Trip To Gardens By The Bay

Trip To Gardens By The Bay

Gardens By The Bay is a park spanning 1,010,000 m2 of reclaimed land in central Singapore, adjacent to Marina Bay, although the MRT station's name is Bayfront and not Marina Bay. The park consists of three waterfront gardens: Bay South Garden, Bay East Garden and Bay Central Garden. The largest of the three gardens is Bay South Garden, standing at 54 hectares.

On the 11th of September, my group, consisting of Masyurah, Attahirah, Sheeren, Masyitoh, Jannah, Umairah and I, had walked around for two hours, got lost a few times, split up because of the millipedes there and screamed alot as well as moan in hunger. The heat was almost unbearable that we ended up stopping a few times. 3 bottles of water i had drank that day, dry. Not a single drop left.

Our first stop, after three turns, was the Brain Cactus at the Sun Pavillion. Its scientific name is 'Mammillaria Elongata "Cristata" ' and, well, it looks like a brain! My group members were disgusted when they first saw it, add that to the amount of mellipedes there, you get a whole group of girls screaming!

Our Next stop was the Life-size Animals At The Web Of Life. We got lost here and ended up walking all the way to Satay By The Bay, past the hideous sculptures of half naked people near Silver Garden. They looked like sumo wrestlers! What was worse was that the sculptures were white in colour. We talked to the sculptures out of boredom and laughed while walking. After turning what seemed to be like a billion times, we ended up at The Web Of Life and took a photo with a  bat. Well, they took a photo. I was the designated camera-woman that day. I also ended up taking photos for the other groups.

After that, we walked to the 'Secret Location' which was actually the 'OCBC Skyway' which was an interesting experience for me. I absolutely loved the view from high above and it felt as if i could fly. I took a lot of selfies there but i shall only be including photos from my camera.

Next we headed to the Malay garden to take a photo of the fruits on the Bread Fruit Tree. The second photo is the tree with no fruits.

Last but not least, we headed to the broadwalk slowly as we were exhausted and took a photo. We asked some guy in a flannel shirt to help us take a photo and for one second, he looked at me for help and I realised he did not know how to use my camera.

We walked back to our meeting area and went into the souvenir shop and sat in a corner, where we accidentally met up with a bunch of sweaty sec 1 A boys. We bought drinks, sat a little while more. Photos i took in the bus were as such.

My day ended with photos with my friend, Zahrah, at tutti frutti after we were dismissed. Frozen Yoghurt really does taste good after a hot day in the sun. My only regret was that i did not bring an extra pair of sunglasses as i am practically blind when walking under bright sunlight. I am quite sad that the year is ending but my journey throughout my first year on Aljunied has been and interesting and memorable one. This is the end of my blog and i do hope you enjoyed it!
